Do you buy in 2nd hand garments?
As a rule Pelsland does not buy worn items. The best and safest way to sell an old fur coat is by offering it to the public through a top of the range secondhand clothing boutique. The biggest difficulty is a lack of transparancy in pricing, as this fluctuates through the type of fur, the quality of the pelts and the current fashion trends. We do offer a remodelling service to bring your older garments up to date or transform it into lining of a raincoat for instance. Click here for further information.

Do you repair and/or clean garments?
Our in house workshops will happily carry out and repairs and alterations for you. Where we can not provide you with an exact estimate on the the spot, we will contact you with an exact price as soon as possible, before any work is carried out. Small repairs will be carried out very swiftly, even during the height of the winter season.
Your fur garment will regain it’s original shine and volume and will maintain a supple feel for longer. Leather and sheepskin items are cleaned without the use of damaging substances. We strive for maximum results while avoiding damage to the garment. To this end, these cases are delicately handled by an experienced professional, though we can not guarantee that the garment will regain it’s original condition.
How much will cleaning my coat set me back?
Prices for fur coats and jackets are as follows:
- Jacket : 140 euro
- Coat (full length): 150 euro
- Hats, boa’s and accessories: 105 euro
The cost for cleaning leather and sheepskin garments depends on the scale to which the item has been soiled. We only charge for the time spent working on the item in question. We either discuss a maximum charge with the customer when the item is brought in or contact you with an exact estimate within a few days. This is also the case where repairs are concerned.
What exactly does Pelsland carry?
Pelsland offers a wide variety of leather, sheepskin and fur coats. We provide a wide range of models and are able to order certain items in other colour variations and with slightly different finishing touches. We also offer tailormade work to ensure that every customer can be matched with their dreamcoat. We also carry a range of rainwear which is combined with fur details and/or lining. Finally we offer a wide selection of accessories to complement our collection. These too, can be made entirely to order, to suit your needs. Our prices for all these items range from 100 euro to around 11000 euro for top of the range fur coats.
How can I respond to ethical questions regarding the use of fur?
The ethical discussion surrounding fur has taken a step back in recent years. The choice to wear fur is entirely your own, much like the decision to avoid meat and other animal products in your diet. As representatives of the fur trade, it is our responsability to ensure humane treatment of any animals involved. Over the years, the fur trade as a whole has become more aware of this and has procured access to the tools needed to carry out this goal. Furthermore, animals in the fur trade are generally better cared for than those used in other industries, because the quality of pelts is a direct effect of an animal’s wellbeing. Don’t let yourself be mislead by those who would rob you of the choice to use animal products. Allow yourself the freedom to decide what feels morally right to you in each individual case, once you’ve gained the information necessary to make such an informed decision. People of this school of thought represent less that 3 percent of the population, despite emotionally laden campagnes that often misrepresent the issues at hand.
